Chris Dutton
Founder & Director
Chris is the founder of 5th Element Fitness and takes a hands on approach at the studio. Chris has over 15 years experience in the fitness industry working with a range of clients from elite sporting teams like the Fremantle Dockers to large corporate groups. His real passion is assisting clients in their rehabilitation and helping them to a pain free, functional life style. Chris’ enthusiasm, positive attitude and philosophy of constant learning and personal development are the cornerstone behind 5th Element.
Chris has completed a Certificate IV in Fitness – Personal Training, Certificate IV in Assessment and Training, Certificate III in Fitness and is a Level 1 Athletics Australia Run Coach, Level 1 Strength & Conditioning Coach and Level 2 Touch Football Australia Coach. Chris has spent 3 years studying Sports Science and Sports Management and spent time teaching Fitness at TAFE while working as a Junior Development Manager with Touch Football Australia.
His own goals have seen Chris complete the Busselton Half Ironman, Busselton Ironman, Anaconda Adventure Race, X-Adventure Race, The Big Swim, True Grit and the Spartan Obstacle Race. Chris enjoys raising funds and awareness for charities through local sporting events. These have included the Race Around Rotto for AutismWest, the Relay for Life for the Cancer Council of Western Australia and The Great Pram Push for the Children’s Leukaemia and Cancer Research Foundation.
Miles Franklin
Manager & Head Trainer
Miles is our early morning wake up call with his super confident, outgoing and positive attitude. His background as a former WAFL football player for East Fremantle combined with his theoretical knowledge create the perfect pairing of performance and rehabilitation.
Miles completed his Bachelor of Science (BSc), Double Degree in Sports Science and Exercise & Health at UWA. He is a qualified level 1 Strength and Conditioning Coach and Certificate III Fitness Instructor.
Miles started with 5th Element as a practical student before becoming a PT and all around class instructor. He has continued to develop his skills and knowledge, moving into a leadership role as manager and head trainer. Miles is the mastermind behind 5th Lift emphasising the importance of strength training for all ages and fitness levels. He incorporates all areas of training and personal rehabilitation utilising his WAFL background as well as his technical and theoretical knowledge to get the best out of all clients.
Max McClarty
Class Instructor
Max is the youngest of our team but is mature beyond his years and a favourite amongst our regular clients. He completed a school based traineeship with 5th Element at the end of 2016. Max has been with us since January 2015 and has a Certificate 2 in Sport & Recreation, Kettlebell Level 1 and is currently completing his Certificate 3 in Sports Coaching.
Max’s energy and enthusiasm has seen him come on in leaps and bounds to become the driving force behind our 5th boxing.
